STEP #5:

Podcasting

Podcasting, is a word-blending of Apple's "iPod" and "broadcasting". It's a way of publishing files to the Internet, allows a subscription to a feed (remember RSS) and receive new files automatically. It first became popular for audio files but refers to videos (vodcast) as well. You can find podcasts almost anywhere, WTTW, CNN, even NPR posts programs. You can even find sites that index podcasts like Apple, Yahoo!, or any of these sites. What fun!

• By now you should have read the article, YouTube and libraries: It could be a beautiful relationship.
• You should now read the article, Lauching into the Podcast/Vodcast Universe. podcast.pdf
• and An Outlet for Creativity podcast2.pdf
• Go to the Kankakee Public Library website. Take a look at their podcasts and listen one. Notice that they have podcasts of authors, programs, and more.

B.

• Find a 2 library related podcasts on your own by typing the words -- library podcast -- into a Google search.
• Listen to the podcasts.
• Post about the podcasts and the articles you read to your blog.
• Now look for other podcasts on any topic. You don't have to post anything to your blog but we may interested too!
